AI Sovereignty for Germany and Europe: Deutsche Telekom's Ambitious AI Factory
Deutsche Telekom, in collaboration with NVIDIA, is set to revolutionize the AI landscape in Germany and Europe by launching one of the largest AI factories on the continent. This ambitious project, based in Munich, will harness the power of up to 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to create a supercomputer capable of delivering 0.5-EFLOPS of AI computing power. This initiative is not just about enhancing computational capabilities; its about establishing AI sovereignty for German companies, allowing them to develop and deploy AI models using their proprietary data.
The new Industrial AI Cloud will enable businesses to book the computing power they need, significantly increasing AI capabilities in Germany by around 50%. With a robust partner ecosystem and a commitment to creating jobs and opportunities, Deutsche Telekom is positioning itself as a leader in the AI sector, ensuring that European strengths are bolstered through technological advancement. As Tim Httges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, aptly puts it, “AI is a huge opportunity. It will help to improve our products and strengthen our European strengths.”
As we look to the future, the question remains: how will this new AI factory impact the competitive landscape for businesses in Europe?
